Job Description
Location: New York City / Hybrid
Company: Clear Sky Collective
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $150,000–$175,000 base + performance-based incentives
About the Role
Clear Sky Collective is seeking a Director, National Media Sales to lead U.S. advertising sales for a major global client in the travel sector.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a new media business from the ground up, bringing a highly desirable global consumer audience and growing portfolio of premium advertising products to the U.S. market.
The Director, National Media Sales will serve as the day-to-day commercial lead for the business, developing relationships with brands and agencies, building the national pipeline, and driving advertising revenue across digital, video, on-premise and emerging media products.
This is a hands-on sales role. We are looking for someone who already knows the U.S. media-buying ecosystem, has strong existing relationships with agency and brand decision-makers, and is excited to both open doors and close business.
Previous experience in travel, travel media or adjacent premium consumer businesses is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day U.S. advertising sales for a major CSC client, serving as a senior commercial representative in the market.
- Build and manage a national pipeline of brand and agency opportunities.
- Activate an existing network of media buyers, agency investment teams, planners and senior brand marketers to accelerate market entry and revenue growth.
- Prospect, pitch, negotiate and close advertising and sponsorship partnerships.
- Develop account and category strategies across priority advertiser verticals.
- Represent the business in agency meetings, advertiser presentations, industry events and other key marketplace opportunities.
- Translate a premium global audience and expanding inventory portfolio into compelling advertiser solutions.
- Partner with CSC and client leadership on pricing, packaging, positioning and go-to-market strategy.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.
- Work closely with prospecting and sales-development resources to prioritize accounts and convert outreach into active opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal client teams and operational partners to ensure successful handoff and delivery of sold campaigns.
- Maintain senior advertiser and agency relationships after the sale, identifying renewal and upsell opportunities.
- Bring marketplace intelligence back to CSC and client leadership to inform product development, packaging and commercial strategy.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of advertising or media sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of personally driving meaningful revenue.
- Strong, current relationships with U.S. media buyers and decision-makers across major agencies and/or brands. This is a core requirement for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop pipeline, open senior-level conversations and close business.
- Experience selling digital media, video, sponsorships or other premium advertising products.
- Previous experience in travel or travel media strongly preferred.
- Experience selling to national advertisers and navigating both agency and direct-brand buying organizations.
- Strong understanding of media planning, buying cycles, pricing, proposals and negotiations.
- Comfortable selling a developing product and helping shape the commercial story rather than inheriting an established sales playbook.
- Entrepreneurial and highly self-directed, with the ability to operate effectively within a large, complex client organization.
- Strong communicator with a credible senior presence in front of clients, agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms and disciplined pipeline and forecast management.
How the Role Works
This is a full-time Clear Sky Collective role dedicated to a major global client. The Director will operate as an embedded extension of the client’s commercial organization while remaining part of the CSC team.
You’ll be supported by a broader CSC revenue team spanning sales development, category expertise, commercial strategy, program development and planning, allowing you to focus heavily on senior relationships, pipeline development and closing business.
The role is expected to be remote but New York-based (preferably) with regular in-person agency and client engagement, along with travel for key meetings and industry events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $150,000-$170,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based incentive tied to revenue generation and commercial performance
- QSEHRA health reimbursement benefit available upon eligibility (CSC anticipates transitioning to a group health plan in April 2027)
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Hybrid work environment with flexibility balanced with regular in-person client and agency engagement
