Reporting to the Global VP of Commercial Partnerships, we're looking for a Director, Business Development — Platform Sales to drive revenue growth across our programmatic platform partnerships. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in consulting, finance, or platforms, with a consultative approach and sharp strategic instincts.
This role leads Samba's portfolio of platform partnerships — DSPs, SSPs, and other programmatic platforms — selling across Samba's full product suite.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and grow a pipeline of programmatic platforms (DSPs, SSPs, and adtech intermediaries) that integrate 3rd-party data and measurement solutions globally
- Sell into leading advertising technology platforms, with emphasis on data solutions for targeting, planning, and measurement
- Structure deals leveraging identity solutions including direct digital matching and intermediaries like LiveRamp and Experian
- Apply consultative selling to help adtech clients optimize the use of TV data in omnichannel marketing
- Collaborate with BD, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to architect, negotiate, and close large-scale data and analytics agreements
- Manage a high-value pipeline through Samba's Enterprise Sales Process in Salesforce
- Build and grow relationships with mid-level and senior leaders at target accounts to drive year-over-year upsell
- Work cross-functionally to keep projects on track and connect products, clients, and client outcomes
- Meet quarterly and annual revenue goals with accurate pipeline forecasting
- Bring client feedback and new product ideas back to product management
Requirements
- 7+ years in a revenue-focused BD or Sales role in advertising, data, measurement/analytics, or AdTech/MarTech SaaS — with media companies, agencies, brands, or platforms
- Solid understanding of the programmatic and digital landscape and data's role within it
- Comfortable selling in a team-sell format to senior executives at adtech and measurement platforms
- Track record of building multi-level strategic relationships that deliver measurable results: revenue growth, new market penetration, and market share gains
- Ability to operate across client disciplines: Brand, Media, Research, Data/Marketing Sciences, Product, Sales, Technology, Finance, and Strategy
- Proven ability to open, navigate, and close 6–7 figure solution sales in key verticals
- Consistent history of surpassing revenue, new business, and profitability targets
- Working knowledge of syndicated data offerings; able to translate data into strategic frameworks
- Multilingual a plus: English required; German, French, Spanish, or Italian a bonus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to make complex ideas clear and concise
$165,000 - $185,000 a year
Samba expects to offer a base salary between $165,000 - $185,000 per year for roles to be performed in New York or California; actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to, location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives.
