Job Description

Company Description Gift is a social platform designed to foster genuine connection and community around shared interests, including music. Rather than focusing on self-promotion, Gift encourages people to celebrate others by sending photos, videos, links, and messages that show appreciation and recognition. Communities on Gift are built around real identities and meaningful interactions, creating space for authentic friendships and long-term engagement. For creators and brands, this approach supports thriving, sustainable communities driven by real connections instead of performance metrics. Gift is centered on the belief that social media should bring people together in positive, supportive ways.

Role Description The LMU Music Community Intern will help build and nurture a vibrant music-focused community on Gift, specifically engaging Loyola Marymount University students and music enthusiasts. In this contract, remote role, the intern will curate and share music-related content, organize and promote virtual events or listening sessions, and support collaborations between student performers, music clubs, and local artists. Day-to-day responsibilities include moderating community interactions to keep the environment positive and inclusive, identifying emerging trends and creators within the LMU music scene, and gathering feedback to improve the platform experience. The intern will also partner closely with Gift’s team to propose new community initiatives, track engagement, and contribute ideas for campaigns that highlight and celebrate members of the music community.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess knowledge of the Music Industry, including an understanding of artist development, promotion, and community-building within music scenes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse community members in an inclusive and respectful manner.
  • Comfort with social platforms and online communities, including basic digital content creation skills.
  • Organizational skills and reliability in managing remote, contract work, including meeting deadlines and providing regular updates.
  • Current LMU student, or strong familiarity with the LMU community and campus culture, is highly beneficial.
