Head of Video Production

We're Life Legacy Studios in Utah Valley. We capture life stories on film for families — talking head interviews, documentary style, two-camera setups. The kind of work families watch for generations.

We're hiring a Head of Video Production to own our post-production engine end-to-end. You'll lead our editing team, drive quality, run our backend systems, and free the founder to focus on sales and growth.

What you'll own:

- Manage our editing team of 4 (3 international + Mateo). Set the quality standard, hold the SLA, run the weekly review.

- Quality control every project before it ships. B-roll, color, sound, story.

- Operate the backend: Frame.io, DaVinci Resolve workflow, proxy creation, file structure, cloud storage.

- Coordinate two-camera interview shoot logistics for 3-5 deals/month (growing).

- Optional: direct or shoot if you bring the chops.

- Clear the current backlog (Larsons, Rootstech, others) in the first 30 days.

Required experience:

- 5+ years in talking head and documentary production

- Pro-level two-camera interview setups (matched cameras, lavs, lighting, sound)

- DaVinci Resolve expert (we cut in Resolve)

- Comfortable managing remote editors across time zones

- Strong systems brain — you like clean file structures and tight workflows

- Story-first mindset

Bonus:

- Family legacy / life story work

- Color grading skills

- Audio post-production

- Camera operating chops

Structure & pay:

- 1099 contract, 90-day trial

- $5,000/month base + $250 per signed-off final video shipped (uncapped)

- 30-day rolling (kill switch both ways)

- Path to $72K W-2 + health stipend after 90 days if delivery SLA holds and backlog clears
