Plushie & Puppet Set, Prop, and Costume Maker
Location: Las Vegas, NV, or Los Angeles, CA area
Project: YouTube puppet/plushie series
We’re looking for a creative, hands-on maker to design and build custom sets, props, costumes, and accessories for a line of plushie characters featured in a YouTube puppet/plushie series.
The ideal candidate combines set-building skills with sewing, plushie construction, art and design, and basic digital art experience. You’ll help bring our characters’ world to life through imaginative environments and character-sized creations that look great on camera.
- Design and build miniature sets, backdrops, and props for a YouTube puppet/plushie series.
- Sew and construct custom costumes, outfits, and accessories for plushies and puppets.
- Create, customize, repair, and modify plushie and puppet characters as needed.
- Develop sketches, concept art, and simple digital mockups to communicate ideas before construction.
- Select materials and construction techniques that balance appearance, durability, and ease of use during filming.
- Collaborate with the creative and production team to turn scripts and concepts into finished pieces.
- Maintain visual consistency across characters, costumes, props, and sets.
All candidates must have prior experience creating or customizing plushies, puppets, or similar styles of toys. Please include examples of this work with your application.
Candidates must also have:
- Hands-on experience in set building and prop fabrication.
- Sewing skills, including pattern creation or alteration, garment construction, and working with plush fabrics.
- Experience with plushie or puppet construction, customization, and finishing.
- Strong art and design skills, including an eye for color, scale, texture, and character personality.
- Basic digital art experience using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, or similar software.
- The ability to work from references, sketches, and creative direction while contributing original ideas.
- Attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet production deadlines.
- A location in either the Las Vegas or Los Angeles area, with availability for hands-on collaboration.
