Mad Decent Records and Decent Distribution and is seeking an experienced Production Manager – Physical Merchandise & Distribution to lead the development, manufacturing, distribution, and sales strategy for physical music products and merchandise across our artist roster. This role will be instrumental in building and scaling our physical product business, bringing the same level of creativity, operational excellence, and commercial focus that drives our digital business.


We are looking for someone with deep expertise in music product manufacturing, distribution, and sales, particularly across vinyl, CDs, and cassettes, along with a working knowledge of apparel and merchandise production. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative collaborator, project manager, and business operator who can oversee the full lifecycle of physical products from concept through retail and direct-to-consumer sales.


What You'll Do:

  • Partner directly with artist teams and management to conceptualize physical product lines and merchandise offerings.
  • Collaborate with designers and creative teams to develop compelling products while managing budgets and production timelines.
  • Source and manage manufacturing partners for vinyl, CDs, cassettes, packaging, collectibles, and merchandise.
  • Coordinate with distribution partners to manage inventory, sales forecasting, fulfillment, and product launches.
  • Develop and expand direct-to-consumer sales channels for both label and artist storefronts.
  • Build relationships with retail partners and negotiate exclusive product opportunities.
  • Work with international partners on distribution, licensing, and localized product initiatives.
  • Coordinate product needs for tours, festivals, events, and special activations.
  • Oversee production schedules, inventory planning, and product delivery timelines.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities to maximize revenue and fan engagement.


What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in physical music product manufacturing, distribution, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of vinyl, CD, cassette, and specialty physical music product production.
  • Understanding of merchandise and apparel production processes.
  • Experience managing relationships with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and fulfillment partners.
  • Familiarity with direct-to-consumer commerce platforms and artist merchandise ecosystems.
  • Excellent project management, budgeting, and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple artist projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with artists, managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Passion for music culture, fan engagement, and creating meaningful physical products.
  • Los Angeles or NYC Preferred (Remote OK)
