About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Game Designer to join our team at Disney Experiences, specifically within the 20th Century Games division. As a full-time member of the Disney Games Group, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the development of licensed game projects that align with 20th Century's iconic properties. Your primary responsibility will be to review, collaborate, and provide strategic feedback on multiple game projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet brand standards, quality benchmarks, and creative visions. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the gaming experiences associated with beloved Disney and 20th Century franchises, contributing to the creation of engaging, high-quality games that resonate with fans worldwide.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in game design or game development, with a proven track record of completing at least two full project cycles. Expertise in at least two of the following design disciplines is required: combat design, level design, systems design, progression design, area design, quest or mission design, technical gameplay design, encounter design, or UI/UX design. Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary tools is essential. A working knowledge of various game genres, gameplay modes, and styles is preferred. Candidates must be willing to travel domestically as needed and possess a valid form of identification for travel purposes. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the gaming industry is also required.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Lead to review and provide constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, assets, systems, and documentation, ensuring alignment with brand identity and quality standards.
- Manage review, approval, and communication pipelines effectively throughout all development phases, maintaining clarity and consistency.
- Evaluate milestone builds, gameplay features, and assets from partner studios, ensuring they meet project milestones and quality gates.
- Convey regular, actionable feedback to development teams, adapting communication style to project needs and development stages.
- Support studios in maintaining core gameplay pillars, brand identity, and design conventions to ensure consistency across projects.
- Serve as a reliable resource for brand and gameplay information, facilitating clear communication between internal teams and external partners.
- Participate in regular meetings with game directors, creative leads, and staff to coordinate project progress and resolve issues.
- Assist product managers in guiding submission workflows, meeting deadlines, and managing project-wide responses to milestones and reviews.
- Establish and maintain consistent conventions and benchmarks for gameplay systems, features, and assets across multiple projects.
- Stay informed about industry standards, emerging trends, and new tools relevant to game design and development within the context of licensed properties.
