Runner Music is looking for a Sync Intern to join our team in West Hollywood for the Summer. As a Sync Intern, you will support the Sync team across music research, catalog review, metadata management, and pitch preparation. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the music publishing and synchronization process, including identifying songs for potential placements to researching film, television, video games, and advertising opportunities.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assist with music searches and pitches to music supervisors and clients.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate metadata for audio within DISCO.
  • Help track down and obtain audio files.
  • Research target projects for pitching opportunities.
  • Create and maintain key documents to track upcoming visual media projects.
  • Enter, update, and maintain contacts in DISCO.
  • Help broaden sync team’s reach by researching and reaching out to potential clients and assist in developing pitch ideas.
  • Attend relevant writer, industry, and client events when applicable.
How We Will Support
  • Provide education on the fundamentals of music publishing and how it specifically applies to sync licensing.
  • Encourage self-starting and innovative approaches to research.
  • Offer hands-on training covering all aspects of the sync world.
  • Teach what makes a “good” song for sync in different media contexts.
  • Support creative pitch ideas and provide constructive feedback on song selection and presentation.
  • Familiarize the intern with key players in the sync landscape.
What Makes You Qualified
  • Currently enrolled in a certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program.
  • Strong interest in music, sync licensing, publishing, or the entertainment industry.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with research, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and creative curiosity.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to analyze music in a commercial context.
This is a hybrid role that will require you to commute to our West Hollywood office a minimum of two days a week.
