Young Musicians Unite (YMU) provides free, high-quality music education to thousands of students across Miami-Dade's Title I schools. Our mission is to empower youth through music, creativity, and community. As our Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead the charge in building and amplifying a brand that reflects the urgency, impact, and innovation of our work.


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and production-savvy leader to oversee all YMU performances and events—ensuring students shine, stakeholders are impressed, and our mission comes alive on stage. This individual will manage the engine behind 200+ shows per year, bringing excellence to every performance from classrooms to cultural venues.


Key Responsibilities: Plan & Execute Events That Matter

  • Lead the execution of high-impact performances—from school showcases to youth festivals and galas.
  • Ensure each event is a meaningful, high-quality experience for students, partners, and guests.


Own the Master Shows Calendar

  • Build and manage the event calendar aligned with school schedules, venue availability, and internal priorities.
  • Keep all departments informed and aligned to a single, shared timeline.


Lead Cross-Functional Teams

  • Supervise internal shows admin associate and freelance production staff.
  • Direct instructors, engineers, tech crew, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Run pre-show briefings and post-show debriefs to foster consistent improvement.


Deliver Production Excellence

  • Coordinate tech needs, stage plots, run-of-show documents, and logistics.
  • Standardize processes and documentation to ensure flawless execution, even in your absence.


Represent YMU

  • Serve as a clear, calm, and confident point of contact for schools, donors, partners, families, and staff.
  • Lead with poise, uphold the YMU standard, and reinforce a strong organizational presence.


What You Bring

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years managing live shows/events and leading small teams
  • Proven success juggling logistics across multiple events
  • Strong communication and leadership across departments and vendors
  • Systems mindset with a track record of creating repeatable processes
  • Deep belief in youth development, mission-driven work, and the power of music
  • Availability for evening/weekend shows
  • Based in or relocating to Miami


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and production systems
  • Experience in education, youth development, or nonprofit environments


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $72,000–$85,000
