Job Description

Social Content Producer & Video Editor Intern

Unpaid Internship | Remote | Los Angeles or New York Preferred | Flexible Part-Time Commitment

Creative Purpose is building a new model for feature-film development: writers’ rooms for movies.

We bring small teams of accomplished screenwriters together to develop original feature films collaboratively, while working with producers, directors and other industry partners to move projects toward production.

We’re now building Creative Purpose’s social presence from the ground up and putting together a small team to help launch the brand.

We already have people focused on social strategy, growth and on-camera content. We’re looking for an intern who wants hands-on experience producing and editing social content for an emerging film-development company.

We already have people focused on social strategy, growth and on-camera content. We’re looking for an intern who wants hands-on experience producing and editing social content for an emerging film-development company — with a particular emphasis on helping us build a strong LinkedIn presence alongside Instagram and TikTok.

What You’ll Work On

  • Edit short-form video for LinkedIn, Instagram Reels and TikTok
  • Turn raw footage, interviews, Zoom conversations and other material into polished social content
  • Help create content specifically for LinkedIn that feels professional, engaging and native to the platform
  • Repurpose industry insights, writers’ room conversations and development discussions into LinkedIn posts, carousels and video
  • Experiment with hooks, pacing, captions, graphics and platform-native editing
  • Help film content when needed
  • Help develop recurring content formats and templates
  • Turn writers’ rooms, filmmaking conversations and project development into engaging content
  • Adapt content for different platforms instead of simply reposting the same thing everywhere
  • Participate in virtual brainstorming and planning sessions
  • Learn from performance data and help test different creative approaches

LinkedIn Experience Is Especially Valuable

Creative Purpose is ultimately trying to reach people who help movies get made — including producers, development executives, managers, directors, talent representatives, financiers and studio executives.

Because of that, LinkedIn may become one of our most important platforms.

We’re especially interested in someone who understands, or wants to learn:

  • How companies and founders build audiences on LinkedIn
  • What types of LinkedIn posts perform well with professional audiences
  • How to turn industry insights into compelling written posts, carousels and video
  • How to identify and engage with relevant industry professionals and companies
  • How LinkedIn content can lead to profile visits, website traffic, conversations and business opportunities
  • How LinkedIn content should differ from Instagram and TikTok

If you have experience managing, growing or creating content for a LinkedIn company page or professional brand, we especially want to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

The biggest technical skill we’re looking for is editing.

You should be comfortable taking footage and turning it into something engaging without needing every editing decision spelled out for you.

Experience with any of the following is helpful:

  • CapCut
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Instagram Edits
  • Final Cut Pro
  • After Effects
  • Canva
  • Short-form vertical video
  • Longer-form content that can be repurposed into social clips
  • LinkedIn video, carousel or company-page content

Film-production experience is a major plus. If your background is more filmmaking than social media but you’re a strong editor, we’d still like to hear from you.

Bonus Skills

  • LinkedIn content strategy
  • LinkedIn company-page management
  • Professional/B2B social media experience
  • Filming and camera experience
  • Strong visual/composition instincts
  • Managing social content for a company or organization
  • Knowledge of Instagram and TikTok trends
  • Comfort occasionally appearing on camera
  • Interest in screenwriting, filmmaking or development
  • Editing interviews, podcasts or conversations into short clips
  • Copywriting for professional audiences

How the Internship Works

This is a collaborative internship rather than one person being responsible for Creative Purpose’s entire social presence.

You’ll work alongside a small team focused on strategy, content creation and growth. We’ll brainstorm virtually, develop content together and divide responsibilities based on each person’s strengths.

Most work can be done remotely. Los Angeles is preferred because there may be opportunities for occasional in-person filming, but it is not required.

The schedule is flexible and designed to work around school, freelance work or other employment.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll get hands-on experience with:

  • Launching an entertainment brand from zero
  • Building a professional LinkedIn presence from the ground up
  • Using LinkedIn to reach entertainment-industry decision-makers
  • Social content strategy and production
  • Short-form video editing
  • Creating content for both professional and consumer-facing audiences
  • Testing content and analyzing performance
  • Using social media to generate real business and industry opportunities
  • Feature-film development
  • Professional writers’ rooms
  • Screenplay development from concept through draft
  • Producer and director involvement
  • Project positioning and packaging
  • Building an early-stage entertainment company

You’ll also have opportunities to observe Creative Purpose writers’ rooms and see how original feature projects are developed.

The goal is for you to leave the internship with real work for your portfolio and meaningful experience helping build a film company’s content operation from the beginning.

Compensation

This is currently an unpaid internship.

Creative Purpose is an early-stage company, and this internship is intended to provide hands-on learning, portfolio-building opportunities and exposure to both social-media production and feature-film development.

There is no guarantee of future employment or compensation.

Please send:

  • Resume
  • Editing reel, portfolio or 3–5 examples of videos you personally edited as a link
  • Any examples of social content you created or filmed
  • Any LinkedIn pages, posts, carousels or campaigns you have worked on
  • A short note about which parts of the content process you’re strongest at

If you have hands-on LinkedIn experience, please call that out clearly in your application.
