Job Description
Audible Treats is a boutique public relations firm based in Brooklyn. Our clients consist mainly of rappers and rap-adjacent companies. We work with some of the biggest and most interesting artists in the business, including Sexyy Red, Chief Keef, Trippie Redd, and more, as well as music festivals. This will be an unpaid, fully remote internship for course credit. We'd like someone who can work 3-5 days a week and is highly disciplined, organized, and reliable in a remote work environment. If you are based in the NYC area, you have the option of woking in our Brooklyn office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We've been through the whole internship thing before and know what it is like to work for someone who doesn't understand or appreciate your contribution to the team. With Audible Treats, you will have a chance to put your skills to use in a meaningful way, gaining practical knowledge of the music industry’s digital landscape as well as making great contacts for your future.
What You Will Get to Do:
- Develop and manage the Audible Treats social media content calendar for both Instagram and LinkedIn to ensure a consistent and engaging posting schedule.
- Create original visual assets and write compelling, on-brand social copy for various platforms.
- Work directly with our publicists to align social media strategy with client publicity campaigns.
- Assist in defining and maintaining a cohesive online brand voice and aesthetic.
- Conduct intensive research on social media trends, platform updates, and relevant industry news.
- Monitor client and entertainment media social channels for insights and opportunities.
- Learn skills in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Business Tools.
What We're Looking For:
- Deep knowledge and love of hip-hop history and culture. Over 90% of our clients are hip-hop- you must eat, live, and breathe the culture.
- Proven interest in Music Marketing and/or Digital Media.
- A strong understanding of major social media platforms, especially Instagram and LinkedIn, and their respective content best practices.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for image creation is a strong plus.
- A creative and critical thinker with an eye for visual design and detail.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
- Self-starter mentality and excellent time management skills required for success in a remote role.
This is primarily a remote opportunity, but if you are based in the NYC area, you may occasionally work out of our Brooklyn office. We’re looking for someone who can commit to 16-24 hours per week during the normal Monday-Friday workweek. Candidates should be willing to commit to a 3-4 month-long internship.
To Apply:
Applicants should supply a resume and two-to-three recent writing and/or social media samples.
