About the Role

MediaCo is seeking a tech-forward, culturally fluent Social Media Strategist & Content Producer to join our team full-time at our New York City headquarters. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a digital-first storyteller who thrives at the intersection of music, media, culture, and technology.

This position follows a hybrid work model, with four days per week required on-site at our Manhattan headquarters. You’ll be embedded in the daily energy of HOT 97 and WBLS, helping translate iconic radio moments into compelling, always-on digital content.

This role blends editorial judgment, short-form video strategy, analytics, and AI-powered production workflows to reach new audiences, deepen community connections, and keep our brands leading the cultural conversation.

What You’ll Do

Social Strategy & Execution

  • Plan and execute cross-platform social strategies across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), and owned web channels
  • Align daily content with larger brand initiatives, programming priorities, and cultural moments

AI-Powered Content Production

  • Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, CapCut, KlingAI, Descript, Canva AI, Runway, etc.) to accelerate ideation, editing, optimization, and scale
  • Experiment with emerging tools and workflows to continuously improve creative output

Short-Form & Repurposed Content

  • Transform long-form interviews, studio sessions, archives, and live broadcasts into Shorts, Reels, clips, carousels, and memes
  • Maintain high editorial and visual standards while moving quickly

On-Site Content Capture

  • Work daily from our Manhattan studios to capture real-time, behind-the-scenes, and in-the-moment content
  • Support live moments and spontaneous opportunities with quick turnaround content

Trend & Culture Spotting

  • Identify emerging platform trends, cultural conversations, and audience behaviors
  • Pitch and execute timely content that keeps our brands culturally relevant

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track performance using platform analytics and insights tools
  • Apply data learnings to refine content formats, cadence, and strategy

Collaboration

  • Partner with creative, video, programming, and marketing teams on campaigns, events, and original content launches


What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with four required on-site days per week in New York City
  • 3+ years of experience in social media strategy or digital content production, preferably within music, media, or entertainment
  • Expert understanding of short-form video platforms and audience-first storytelling
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into creative workflows
  • Deep knowledge of Hip-Hop, R&B, and New York City culture
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, live-broadcast environment

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Annual salary: $70,000
