Job Description
The University of Maine is seeking a storyteller and video creator to bring the energy, people and impact of our campus to life through social-first video. This is a full-cycle creator role—ideal for a video journalist, content creator or social media reporter who wants to own stories from idea to impact. You’ll pitch, report, shoot, host, edit and publish original content that captures everything from breakthrough research and major events to the everyday moments that define life at UMaine.
This is not a behind-the-scenes role—you’ll be on camera, shaping stories in real time and building a strong, visible portfolio seen across platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Working as part of a collaborative content team within the Division of Marketing and Communications, you’ll create short-form video that feels authentic, engaging and built for how audiences consume content today, helping define how a major research university shows up in the world. Typical hiring range for this position is $54,000 to $60,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
