Scissor Films is a full-service production company based in Los Angeles specializing in virtual production, VFX, post-production, commercials, music videos, and film & TV. We're a tight-knit team that pushes the boundaries of visual storytelling — operating our own XR/LED volume stage and building everything from fully CGI worlds to complex compositing pipelines in-house.
Our work spans some of the biggest names in music, film, and brand advertising. Video Editing Intern
Los Angeles, CA | College Internship (School Credit)
We're looking for a driven Video Editing Intern to join our post-production team. You'll work directly alongside our editors on real projects — helping shape raw footage into polished, deliverable content across commercials, music videos, and film & TV.
What You'll Do
• Assist lead editors on assembly cuts, rough cuts, and fine cuts
• Organize media assets, manage project files, and maintain clean workflows
• Perform basic color corrections, audio syncs, and prepare export deliverables
• Support the broader post-production pipeline from ingest through final delivery
What We're Looking For
• Currently enrolled in a Film, Media Production, or related college program
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve
• A strong eye for pacing, storytelling, and visual rhythm
• Ability to stay focused and organized in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment

VFX Artist Intern
Los Angeles, CA | College Internship (School Credit)
We're looking for a technically curious VFX Intern to support our visual effects team across active productions. You'll get direct exposure to a professional VFX pipeline and work alongside artists on projects that ship to real audiences.
What You'll Do
• Assist VFX artists with compositing, rotoscoping, and motion tracking tasks
• Help manage shot lists, asset organization, and render output reviews
• Support VFX reviews and contribute to team feedback sessions
• Learn and work within a production-level VFX pipeline from day one
What We're Looking For
• Currently enrolled in a Film, VFX, Animation, or related college program
• Familiarity with compositing software such as Nuke or After Effects
• Basic understanding of keying, green screen, rotoscoping, and motion tracking
• Detail-oriented, receptive to feedback, and comfortable iterating quickly

3D Modeling Intern
Los Angeles, CA | College Internship (School Credit)
3D work is central to everything we do at Scissor Films — not an afterthought. We're looking for a 3D Modeling Intern who's serious about their craft and ready to contribute to productions that actually ship, building assets that end up in commercials, music videos, and virtual production environments.
What You'll Do
• Build and refine 3D models for environments, props, vehicles, creatures, and products
• UV unwrap and texture assets to professional pipeline standards
• Collaborate with our art and VFX teams on asset integration and delivery
• Maintain clean, organized file structures across projects
What We're Looking For
• Currently enrolled in a 3D Animation, Game Design, Film, or related college program
• Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or equivalent 3D software
• Working knowledge of texturing tools such as Substance Painter or Photoshop
• A portfolio demonstrating your 3D work is required

Unreal Engine Artist Intern

Virtual production isn't a side service at Scissor Films — it's a core part of how we work. We operate our own XR/LED volume stage in Los Angeles and are looking for an Unreal Engine Artist Intern who wants to be inside that pipeline, building real-time environments for productions that reach massive audiences.
What You'll Do
• Build and dress scenes and environments within Unreal Engine 5 for virtual production shoots
• Assist with lighting, level sequencing, and virtual camera setups on the LED volume
• Import and optimize assets for real-time performance
• Support on-set virtual production shoots alongside our team
What We're Looking For
• Currently enrolled in a Film, Game Design, Interactive Media, or related college program
• Solid working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 — scene building required, Blueprints a strong plus
• Familiarity with virtual production, XR, or LED volume workflows is a significant advantage
• Genuine excitement for where real-time technology and filmmaking are heading
