Overview
A new independent production company, Tu Bruja Productions, is looking for a Senior Editor to join our team for our project, “The Return.” The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in collaborating with the director and production to assemble the film’s footage through its final cut. Editors who have experience in feature-length and/or short independent films will be considered. Experience in the horror/thriller/suspense genres is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Director and Producers to understand the vision of the film
Collaborate with Sound Designers, Colorists, and VFX Supervisors in post-production
Make choices that affect the film’s pace, atmosphere, narrative, etc.
Cut, splice, and arrange raw footage to create scenes, sequences, and more

Requirements:

Proficiency in film and video editing software, including Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer
Proficiency in visual effects and editing software
Knowledge of colour grading, as well as audio and video formats
Strong communication skills to collaborate on the director’s vision and pacing of the film, as well as any specific requirements or creative constraints that may affect the editing process
Expert knowledge of storytelling and visual awareness with attention to detail

Ideal candidates will be senior editors based in the New York Metropolitan area and New Jersey. The position will be hybrid, as while the majority of the work will be remote, there will be some in-person meetings with the Director and the Post-Supervisor. The start date is TBD.

As an independent production company, the rate is $5,000 for a four-week contract on a month-to-month basis, depending on the post schedule and deliverables.
