Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Event Planner to lead the planning and execution of complex and high-profile events. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of event production from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional events, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events including meetings, conferences, fundraisers, private functions, and corporate gatherings
- Oversee event budgets, timelines, vendor contracts, and logistics
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and deliver customized event solutions
- Manage and mentor junior planners and event support staff
- Conduct site inspections, manage setup and breakdown, and ensure adherence to safety regulations
- Coordinate with vendors, catering, entertainment, décor, and technical staff to ensure flawless execution
- Troubleshoot and resolve event issues in real-time
- Prepare post-event reports and evaluate performance for future improvements
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional event planning experience, preferably in a leadership role
- Proven experience managing large-scale and high-end events
- Strong budget management and negotiation skills
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on event schedules
- Knowledge of event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or a related field
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar industry certification
- Experience working in venue-based event management or sports/entertainment industries
- Familiarity with Chicago’s local vendors, venues, and permits

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4,100.00 - $4,400.00 per month
