KRDO13 is a community-focused organization that delivers to audiences on four diverse platforms: ABC, Telemundo, AM&FM, and Digital.

Job Position Description:

KRDO 13 is looking for a full-time Promotions Producer to create topical promos for evening newscasts, social media formatted promos, image promos, and proof of performance promos. Creating attention-grabbing consumer centric images and topical promos using research-based marketing concepts is one of the core responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, a compelling, concise and creative writer, an accomplished videographer, a multimedia/creative expert that can meet the needs of many marketing platforms, and one who demonstrates a high degree of technical aptitude and attention to detail. Candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the station. General working hours will be from 2pm – 10pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write, shoot, edit, and gather video for use in topical promotion of evening newscasts.
• Create and edit image and proof of performance promos when not doing topicals.
• Monitor the appearance of talent, production, and overall quality of topical and image promotions.
• Gather sound bites and raw video from news broadcast for use in proof promotion.
• Tag Daily Episodic Promos for KRDO Syndicated Shows.
• Work with engineering and production staff to ensure promotion content adheres to broadcast standards.
• Produce Print / Digital / Radio Promos as part of our marketing campaigns.
• Assist Promotions Manager on shoots, edits, and daily broadcast logs.
• Adhere to KRDO Style Guide.

Requirements:

• Two to three years writing, producing, and editing topical, sweeps and image promos preferred.
• Non-linear editing experience required.
• Must have the ability to review and identify elements in newscasts like soundbites and interesting live shots to create proof of performance promos.
• Two to three years’ experience with broadcast editing systems and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop) is necessary.
• Experience with both Windows and Mac OS is a big plus.
• Working knowledge of lighting and audio capture techniques is necessary.
• Accomplished Videographer and multimedia/creative expert
• Must demonstrate a high degree of technical aptitude and attention to detail.

Annual Salary Range:

$44,500.00; based on experience. Non-Exempt.

KRDO13 is in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, near the base of Pikes Peak, along the front range of the Rocky Mountains, and close to Garden of the Gods. Colorado Springs is often rated as one of the country’s best cities to live in. It is a big city with a small-town feel, with Castle Rock and Denver within an hour’s drive.
