JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Director with the legal rights review and interpretation of internal deal memos and Agreements

Support Director in establishing, maintaining and memorializing standardized rights data entry to facilitate clear and concise reporting results

Manage and oversee Rights Analyst(s) and Coordinator(s) responsible for capturing projects, rights, exhibitions, general terms and basic financial terms into rights management system to maintain data entry standardizations

Be first line of defense on troubleshooting and resolving any issues whether contract, system or process oriented
-
Provide management with rights availability reports, perform rights research, complete ad hoc projects, and customize reports as needed by International, Legal, Finance, Scheduling and Program Sales divisions

Identify and advise on potential gaps related to changes in contract verbiage and propose improvements to facilitate the tracking of those changes
-
Recommend and advocate for improvements to enhance the Rights database to Management, IT and the Vendor helping to facilitate the company’s growth
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
-
Bachelor's degree
-
5-7 years of relevant experience, and 2+ years of experience in management experience
-
Experience working at a television network, cable network, film studio, television distribution company, a law firm or similar business that specializes in entertainment/media transactions is required (3 to 4 years’ experience preferred)

Superior knowledge of multiplatform media rights and experience reviewing and interpreting complex Agreements

Must have experience in working in a rights management system, generating reports, and entering legal rights data. Specific experience working with Film Track, Rights Logic, or Rights Line is a plus

Candidate should have highly developed analytical skills

Must also possess an ability to discuss technology issues with members of IT staff and clients is critical as well
-
Proficient in all aspects of MS Office – Excellent excel skills required

There is a high level of productivity and accuracy required in the position. Must be detail oriented

Have an ability and willingness to work independently as well as within a team environment
-
The position is service-oriented, so excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary as is an ability to discuss reports, data and issues with individuals at all levels of company
The base compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 commensurate with experience.
