WTOL 11, TEGNA's CBS affiliate serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, is looking for a talented Multiskilled Journalist and Meteorologist to join our dynamic news team.
This is a unique opportunity for a journalist who thrives both in the field and at the weather wall. We're looking for someone who can tell compelling stories across platforms and keep our community informed and safe with engaging, accurate weather forecasts.

Requirements:

As a Multiskilled Journalist (MSJ):
  • Pitch, research, shoot, write, and edit high-impact stories for TV, digital, and social platforms
  • Create compelling enterprise content that connects with our audience
  • Deliver stories in an engaging and authentic voice, live or recorded
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and the assignment desk to meet daily deadlines
As a Meteorologist:
  • Prepare and deliver weather forecasts in a clear, conversational style on-air and online
  • Lead weather coverage and step into severe weather coverage when needed
  • Use state-of-the-art weather tools to track storms and communicate urgent information to our viewers
  • Create original weather and science content for our WTOL 11+ streaming platform
Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Meteorology, or a related field
  • On-air reporting and forecasting experience (at least 1–2 years preferred)
  • Strong storytelling, live reporting, and video editing skills
  • Ability to analyze weather data and translate it into understandable, audience-focused forecasts
  • Comfort with digital platforms, including live streaming and social media
  • A collaborative spirit and commitment to serving the community with impactful journalism and lifesaving weather information
