Bandit Editorial in NY, NY is looking for a new member to join our amazing team! Bandit is a creative post production studio complemented by a roster of talented editors, assistant editors, Producers, VFX and Graphics Artists. This role will be in charge of all editorial & production media elements, solely responsible for archival and backup of all data, and will be able to assist anyone needing these elements both physically and digitally. The right candidate will have an interest in Post Production, knowledge of the production process from start to finish, and an interest in keeping up on the latest technologies and solutions in remote post-production technology.

The ideal candidate will have extreme organizational abilities, can handle a fast paced environment, and be a good multi-tasker.

Key Responsibilities

The Vault Manager is responsible for maintaining our entire media library. Basic responsibilities include:

  • Cataloguing finished spots and making them available on internal server and external archives.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and cataloguing our extensive library of commercial work
  • Managing new media according to best practices (copying to server and archival drives/LTO tapes)
  • Managing onsite and offsite media storage, ensuring that all backups are updated in a timely fashion
  • Actively managing the live media server, ensuring that completed projects are appropriately archived (on LTOs and external drives) and making room for new projects
  • Archiving and transferring all digital dailies content to/from production and archive. Should a job need to come back on the server, find drive, and copy media back over.
  • Helping AEs and Editors with media as needed
  • Barcoding System for all elements. This includes vaulting any assets from editorial, as well as raw footage/production drives from the production companies and agencies. Checking elements in and out as they leave the vault in our system. Knowing where all elements are at ALL times.
  • When requested, posting masters (older and newer) for all departments in need.
  • General shipping and receiving—Fed ex/ Shipping of drives to out of state storage, setting up messengers, drop-offs/pickups of assets and drives to and from outside sessions.

Position Requirements:

  • Familiarity with media management, different archival systems and best practices
  • Familiarity with servers
  • Familiarity with digital media codecs/formats and transcoding (.mov, .wmv, .flv, .mp4)
  • Experience with Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder, Frame.io, Box, Aspera/Signiant and other file-sharing mechanisms a plus
  • Ability to work occasional OT
  • Extensive knowledge of Mac operating system
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Resourceful, curious, and highly motivated, with proven problem solving skills while working independently as well as with a team.
  • At least 1-2 years Experience in a Post Production/Production media management environment
  • Degree in the field of Production/Film/Editing/Library Science/Archival or similar

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
