Red Velvet Studios LA — a professional music studio in Mid-City Los Angeles with a vibrant online community of over 58,000 followers — is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented

This Role: Events & Community Engagement Intern to support the planning and execution of our music events, educational workshops, and community activations. This is a hands-on role combining behind-the-scenes coordination with on-site event support, offering a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the music industry’s creative, event, and community engagement sectors.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about live music, artist development, education, and building meaningful connections with the local community. Candidates should have experience organizing and running events. We aim to leverage our large online following while creating more opportunities to engage directly with our local LA community.

The ideal candidate is someone who not only thrives on creativity and structure but also enjoys reaching out to brands and businesses, building relationships, and finding partnership opportunities that strengthen events. They should be excited by planning and creating experiences from the ground up and must be able to work independently on tasks while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Location: Primarily in-person at Red Velvet Studios (Mid-City LA) and with occasional remote work for administrative tasks.

Start Date: Immediately

End Date: Approximately 3-month assignment for experience and portfolio building only (with potential extension).

Hours: Part-time (10–15 hours/week, with some evenings/weekends for events). Internship (school credit available if applicable).

Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Coordination

Assist in planning music events, artist workshops, and community-focused brand activations.
Help create and manage event pages on platforms such as Eventbrite or Partyful.
Support with rental orders, production schedules, vendor communication, and invoices.
Help create timelines, checklists, and materials to ensure smooth event execution.

Community Feedback & Event Strategy

Assist in polling our community and local audience to understand what types of events they want to attend.
Conduct research on pricing strategies for ticketed events to ensure accessibility and profitability.
Gather feedback post-events to improve future experiences.

Brand, Sponsor, & Venue Outreach

Identify local bars, restaurants, and brands to partner with, including securing food, drink, or promotional support for events.
Connect with music-related sponsors to provide prizes, raffles, or incentives for attendees.
Assist in drafting outreach emails, phone calls, or social media messages to potential collaborators.
Track responses and maintain organized communication records for follow-ups.
Venue scouting and outreach: Identify potential spaces for hosting events (houses, pools, large backyards, or other venues).
It is a plus if the candidate has access to spaces they can offer for events or is comfortable negotiating with business owners to involve them in event partnerships.

Ticketed & Community-Focused Events

Assist in designing and executing ticketed events that connect Red Velvet Studios with the local music community.
Help plan events that provide educational opportunities, showcase artist talent, and offer studio services to potential clients.
Support marketing and promotion efforts to ensure community attendance and engagement.
Help bridge our online community with local events, creating opportunities for in-person connection in LA.

Event Setup & Execution

Assist with event setup, including décor, signage, sound check prep, and registration areas.
Provide on-site support during events — guest check-in, artist assistance, and troubleshooting.
Help with teardown, clean-up, and organizing event materials post-event.

General Support

Assist with other Red Velvet Studios initiatives, such as artist showcases or social media content tied to events.
Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions for new event ideas.
Provide administrative support to the Events & Artist Relations team.

Qualifications:

Proven experience organizing and running events, preferably in music, arts, or community settings.
Passion for live music, artist development, community events, and education.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including professional outreach.
Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Enjoys reaching out to brands, businesses, and sponsors to create meaningful partnerships.
Excited about planning, creating, and executing events from start to finish.
Can work independently with self-motivation while also thriving as part of a collaborative team.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; social media savvy is a plus.
It is a plus if the candidate has access to venues (house, pool, large backyard) or is experienced in reaching out to businesses to partner for event space.

Additional Notes:

Must be available for select evenings and weekends.
This role may involve the physical setup and breakdown of event equipment and décor.
Internship may qualify for college credit depending on your school’s requirements.
