Native Ways 2 College (NW2C) is part of Tzicatl Community Development Corporation (Tzicatl CDC). Our mission is to advance the rights of Indigenous Peoples, the reparation of community and advocacy for healthy ecosystems to cultivate Indigenous education and culture in relation with ancestral lands. In partnership with community-based organizations our project leverages twenty years of experience with providing Indigenous education in Los Angeles. NW2C serves as a backbone organization, administrating, convening, and resourcing sustained outreach and educational service coordination to the region’s extraordinarily diverse Native communities. Our goal is to empower the self-determination of Los Angeles area Native American middle and high school students and their families with access to high-quality and culturally relevant educational choices and services that will cultivate a living Indigenous education ecosystem; support their
Native identities within our unique geographical, historical, and cultural context; and create pathways to high school achievement and college enrollment.
The Job
NW2C is seeking a Los Angeles based Social Media Assistant. This role will be responsible for shooting, editing and posting relevant social media content. The person chosen for the role will work closely with the Program Director and Communications Coordinator. They will be present for all NW2C and partner events to take photos and shoot video. They will then be responsible for editing social media content and sharing that throughout all of our social media outlets. They may also have opportunities to work with other teams as NW2C brings in other filmmakers to produce content on behalf of the program. In this case the role would be responsible for supporting those teams and helping in preparation for those types of productions.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating story driven content that advances the goals and objectives of NW2C
- Take photo and shoot video
- Editing photos using Adobe Lightroom, and Photoshop
- Edit Video content using Davinci Resolve and/or Adobe Premiere
- Creation and management of production schedules
- Ability to manage a production budget
- Attend NW2C and Partner programming and events
- Support Program Director with Social media strategy and scheduling
- Evaluate analytics to make adjusts to content with a goal to increase engagement
- Work directly with partners and clients to create content
Job Requirements
- Bachelors in film, communications or marketing
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Experience producing branded social media content
- Extensive experience with Adobe photo editing
- Experience with video editing (Premier, Davinci, or Final Cut Pro)
- In depth knowledge of video production process
- Experience in scripting
- Ability to work with talent and clients
- At least 1 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Located in LA area and willingness to work in-person and virtually
- Collaborative spirit, a willingness and ability to work with a team to reach goals together
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and assets of American Indian children and youth.
- Experience working within Native American education and/or school
Compensation/Benefits:
- $24 - $28 per hour (based on experience and education level)
