We are seeking a dependable and adaptable Assistant Motion Capture Technician to support the operation and maintenance of our Vicon-based motion capture stage. This role is ideal for someone with a technical mindset and a collaborative spirit who is looking to grow within the motion capture team. You will work closely with the Studio MoCap Team to ensure smooth stage operations during pre-production setup, live capture sessions, and post-session deliverables.
Your Responsibilities
Assist with setup, calibration, and maintenance of Vicon motion capture hardware and stage equipment.

Support performers during marker suit-up, labeling, and prop preparation. -
Monitor live capture sessions, ensuring marker visibility and identifying real-time tracking issues. -
Perform routine checks on camera status, cabling, timecode sync, and environmental conditions. -
Record and log relevant session notes for future reference and post-processing. -
Aid in data wrangling immediately after shoots—organizing takes, maintaining naming conventions, and ensuring data backups. -
Perform post processing on captured data including Labeling, Solving, Ratargeting using Vicon and internal tools. -
Maintain a clean and organized stage environment; track gear inventory and assist with upkeep.
Communicate effectively with mocap team members to adjust to on-the-fly production needs.
Your Qualifications
Basic familiarity with motion capture systems (preferably Vicon or similar).

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical checklists. -
Comfortable working in a live production environment with fast-paced changes. -
Physically capable of moving/lifting equipment and working on your feet for extended periods. -
Proficient in basic computer operations (Windows OS, file management, network basics).
Good interpersonal communication skills, especially in collaborative or performer-facing situations.
Nice to Haves
Experience with Vicon Shogun Live/Post.

Familiarity with motion capture data cleanup workflows or 3D software (e.g., MotionBuilder, Maya). -
Interest in animation, game development, or virtual production. -
Understanding of camera calibration, timecode sync, or AV equipment.
Background in film, tech theater, or live events a plus.
