About Bold Spark Media
Bold Spark Media is a full-service marketing agency specializing in creative content and cross-platform campaigns. We produce eye-catching graphics and high-quality videos that help brands connect with their audience across digital and traditional platforms. Our team is collaborative, innovative, and passionate about storytelling and marketing results. We foster a creative environment where new ideas are encouraged and team members are supported with on-the-job training and growth opportunities.
Job Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Video Editor (Entry-Level) to join our creative team in Hawthorne, NJ. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or early-career professional who is passionate about video production and eager to grow their skills. You will primarily be responsible for editing video content using DaVinci Resolve (don’t worry – we will provide training), with occasional projects in Adobe Premiere Pro. In addition to video editing, you’ll assist with light graphic design tasks and support our team with implementing video content in paid advertising campaigns. This is an in-person position (approximately 20 hours per week to start) with flexibility in scheduling and the potential to expand your role as you gain experience. If you’re creative, detail-oriented, and excited to collaborate in a fast-paced marketing environment, we’d love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
- Video Editing: Edit and assemble video content for a variety of projects, including marketing materials, client testimonials, educational videos, and social media ads. Use DaVinci Resolve as the primary editing tool (training provided) and Adobe Premiere Pro for occasional projects.
- Graphic Integration: Incorporate basic graphics, text overlays, and effects into videos to enhance storytelling and brand consistency. Create simple graphic designs or visuals as needed for video content (e.g. titles, thumbnails, or social media graphics).
- Content Preparation: Optimize videos for different platforms (social media, websites, YouTube, paid advertising channels) by adjusting formats, aspect ratios, and lengths according to requirements. Ensure all edited videos meet quality standards and brand guidelines before publication.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our marketing team to understand project goals and messaging. Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions and collaborate in a creative, team-oriented environment to produce the best final product.
- Support Marketing Campaigns: Assist with tasks related to video content in advertising campaigns, such as organizing and uploading video ads to platforms, checking performance metrics, or making quick revisions for A/B testing (guidance and training will be provided).
- Revisions and Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from team members and clients to refine video edits. Make revisions as needed and learn from feedback to continuously improve your editing skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Film, Media Production, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field. (Recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.)
- Video Editing Skills: Basic experience with video editing through coursework, internships, or personal projects. Familiarity with any editing software (e.g. DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is beneficial. No expert-level experience required – we will provide on-the-job training in DaVinci Resolve.
- Graphic Design Knowledge: Ability to do light graphic design for video purposes. Experience with tools like Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or Canva is a plus (not required, but willingness to learn is important).
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with computers and learning new software. Knowledge of file formats, video codecs, and social media platforms is a bonus.
- Creativity & Attention to Detail: A creative eye for visual storytelling, pacing, and continuity in videos. Strong attention to detail to catch editing errors, ensure high-quality output, and maintain brand consistency.
- Communication & Teamwork: Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude. Able to take direction, ask questions, and work as part of a team. Open to feedback and excited to learn from experienced colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks or projects in a deadline-driven environment. Reliable and proactive in completing assignments.
- Availability: Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, NJ for roughly 20+ hours per week. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate recent grads, but you should have consistent availability during the work week. Must be ready to start as soon as possible.
What We Offer
- Hands-On Training: Learn professional video editing techniques in DaVinci Resolve with guidance from our experienced team. We’ll help you get up to speed quickly and continue to develop your skills.
- Creative Growth: Work in a collaborative, creative environment where your ideas are welcomed. You’ll have the chance to contribute to a variety of projects (from social media clips to longer-form content) and build a diverse portfolio of work.
- Mentorship: Gain direct mentorship. This role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of content creation, from concept to final deliverable, within a marketing agency context.
- Career Development: As your experience grows, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibilities, increase your hours, and advance within the company. We reward growth – starting pay is $20/hour, with regular reviews and potential increases as you achieve milestones and improve your craft.
- Dynamic Projects: Every week is a little different – you might edit a client testimonial video one day and create an engaging Instagram ad the next. This variety will keep the job exciting and help you develop a broad skill set.
- Team Culture: Join a small, friendly team that values innovation, collaboration, and creativity. We often brainstorm together and celebrate creative successes. You’ll be an important part of our projects and our company culture from day one.
