Job Summary/Description:

KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative, and energetic storyteller to join our award-winning team as a newscast producer. This is a full-time on-air position. We will invest in, train, and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and prosper.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Be a team player
  • Produce, with other producers and anchors, our #1-rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air.
  • Gather and verify news information
  • Conduct thorough interviews, research, fact-check
  • Deliver content to digital and social media platforms

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right while serving our community.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to write conversationally and creatively
  • Video editing skills
  • Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred
  • Some newsroom experience preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
  • MVR check required
