Production Assistant Intern (Film/TV)

The Production Assistant Intern will assist the Office Manager in the daily

office upkeep. This position is responsible for reading, printing, and distributing scripts, running

errands for Directors, Producers, and Office Manager and relaying messages between members

of the team to ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

● Be involved in learning the script development process, such as assisting with script

research or providing feedback and coverage on drafts.

● Assist the Office Manager in covering the front desk and answering calls to learn how to

manage a fast-paced office environment.

● Greet and maintain a professional and friendly attitude when guests arrive for meetings.

Provide any extra assistance to their needs by offering refreshments, snacks, parking

validation, and how to locate restrooms.

● Assist in lunch ordering and picking lunch up in a timely manner. Responsible for delivery

and clean-up of lunches.

● Ensure the snack cabinet and refrigerator are appropriately stocked with the necessary

for or drinks.

● Ensure the office copyroom paper supplies are in stock.

● Direct general inquiries to the appropriate people.

● Assist Office Manager in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, stocking,

replenishing, light cleaning, and organizing.

● Support all employees in day-to-day functions including errands and tasks completed in

a timely manner.

● Sort and distribute mail and packages to employees in a timely manner. This includes

ensuring outgoing FedEx, UPS, or other carrier facility packages are appropriately picked

up for outgoing packages.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

● Assist in the planning and execution of company events.

● Drive to the Hyperobject storage facility to pick up or drop off items needed or no longer

needed in the office.

● Assist the Hyperobject Podcast department in printing scripts and organizing them in a

specific manner.

● Assist in script coverage provided by an Hyperobject employee for review.

● Run local errands each shift, including daily lunch pickups and other requests such as

purchasing or picking up items from local retailers (e.g., CVS, Target, Best Buy). This may

involve driving up to 20 miles from the office per shift.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

● High School diploma or G.E.D, required.

● Interest in film, television, and podcasting, required.

● Intermediate experience with Google (Docs, calendars), Microsoft Office Suite, including

Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

● Intermediate in answering phones.

● Excellent verbal English communication and customer service skills with ability to

communicate and interact with people of all levels.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and is open to change.

● Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.

● Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.

● Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

● Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

● Displays a professional appearance, demeanor, and positive attitude.

● Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Standing and sitting for extended periods of time.

● Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner.

● Ability to easily move throughout an office with ease.

● Comfortable with and ability to safely drive in Los Angeles traffic, including navigating

freeways and side streets for up to 20 miles per shift. This includes sitting for extended

periods while driving, entering and exiting a vehicle frequently, and carrying small to

moderately heavy items when completing errands.

● Ability to read, write, and understand English.

● Ability to effectively interact with others internally and externally.

● Ability to utilize office equipment in a safe and prudent manner, including a copy

machine, fax machine, computer, telephone, and other general office equipment that

may be used regularly.

● Ability to work with many different personalities and levels.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

● Correctable vision and hearing.

● Ability to work on-site.
