KTVB, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Boise, ID is looking for a highly skilled artistic News Photographer who can create exciting content for television, social media, and digital platforms.
We are seeking a Photojournalist who can visualize great stories solo, and with a team.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the latest editing and photography tools and software to tell great stories
- Produce compelling, emotional, original content for broadcast and digital platforms
- Use creative story-telling techniques (graphics, lighting, photography, etc.) to enhance stories
- Be capable of covering, in a professional manner, a wide range of news topics, including breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political stories
- Participate in daily editorial meetings by pitching strong, enterprise stories
- Maintain professional broadcasting equipment in clean, working order
- Safely operate news vehicles in a variety of locations and terrain, and operate live video technology
- Perform other tasks as required by management
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of professional broadcasting experience preferred
- Knowledge of professional news gathering, editing, and content management systems
- Ability to demonstrate creativity in daily assignments
- Proficiency in professional social media engagement
- Demonstrated news judgment, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills
- Must be punctual, dependable, and flexible with schedule
- An understanding of the tenants of professional ethical journalism
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure and deadlines
