KTVB, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Boise, ID is looking for a highly skilled artistic News Photographer who can create exciting content for television, social media, and digital platforms.

We are seeking a Photojournalist who can visualize great stories solo, and with a team.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the latest editing and photography tools and software to tell great stories
  • Produce compelling, emotional, original content for broadcast and digital platforms
  • Use creative story-telling techniques (graphics, lighting, photography, etc.) to enhance stories
  • Be capable of covering, in a professional manner, a wide range of news topics, including breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political stories
  • Participate in daily editorial meetings by pitching strong, enterprise stories
  • Maintain professional broadcasting equipment in clean, working order
  • Safely operate news vehicles in a variety of locations and terrain, and operate live video technology
  • Perform other tasks as required by management

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of professional broadcasting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of professional news gathering, editing, and content management systems
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity in daily assignments
  • Proficiency in professional social media engagement
  • Demonstrated news judgment, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and flexible with schedule
  • An understanding of the tenants of professional ethical journalism
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure and deadlines
