SEEKING A STRONG, CAPABLE PR PRO TO JOIN OUR PUBLICITY TEAM


Perception PR is looking for a new team member in our lean, mean publicity department. Must be currently operating at a Senior Publicist level or above with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive awards and film/series publicity campaigns for a diverse roster of entertainment industry clients. Good press relationships are a must. Good relationships with editors and journalists that cover the awards space is a plus. Excellent candidates would have at least 5+ years experience working at a publicity firm, studio, network or streamer. While we have both film and television clients, if your experience aligns more with one or the other, you may still be a great fit for our team if you meet the rest of the criteria as described.

 

Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented with a professional demeanor who can work well in a fast-paced environment. This job is based in Los Angeles with a work-from-home policy. There will be an in-person component by attending screenings, events, interviews and other client-related and industry events. RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Pitch and secure media coverage in print, online, TV, radio and podcasts on behalf of clients on a local, regional, and national level
  • Liaise with clients to execute publicity offers
  • Pitch and secure reviews in print and online outlets
  • Write and edit materials including press releases, pitches, talking points, etc.
  • Participate in client meetings and staff brainstorm sessions
  • Plan and execute publicity events including screenings, press days, junkets, premieres, and interviews
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with entertainment trade and consumer media 
  • Knowledge of staffing changes in the media as well as the launch of new outlets and publicity opportunities


 QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in publicity at a studio or agency
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
  • Passion for film, television and awards
  • Muckrack and MailChimp experience a plus
