About the role

The Artist Services Assistant is a critical part of the New Directors/New Films team. Working under the supervision of the Senior Programming Coordinator, the AS Assistant serves as a liaison between the festival and a portfolio of films, organizing travel, guest appearances at official festival events, event invitations, ticketing, and other “ground game” responsibilities. In addition to these service-oriented responsibilities, the Assistant interacts with publicity and events staff associated with their films on behalf of the festival, ensuring clean, streamlined communication between filmmakers and ND/NF

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the main point of contact on-site for a portfolio of ND/NF guests;

Assist with filmmaker and guest travel and accommodation arrangements;

Coordinate ticketing requests for associated Guests;

Coordinate all other filmmaker or guest benefits as required;

Coordinate with hotel and airlines for guests as required;

Communicate talent and attendance updates promptly with programming, marketing, and publicity teams;

Participate in walkthroughs, site visits, and training sessions as required;

Collaborate with FLC and MoMA Programming, Publicity, and Events Departments as required;

Follow up with filmmakers about invitations to key events as directed;

Adhere to established budgeting and financial tracking policies;

Create and distribute the festival schedule (“Daily Grind”) and moderator scripts as required each day;

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Previous film festival experience;

Proficiency with GSuite;

Attention to detail and ability to work independently;

Knowledge of film and film festival best practices.
