Executive Producer

General Job Description:

ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana seeks an Executive Producer to add to our growing team. This EP would lead our morning show team to success. The ideal candidate must be committed to winning breaking news and winning weather coverage on all platforms.? They also must be committed to mentoring producers and winning the ratings.? We are looking for a motivator who’s a great show doctor.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Leading story selection and reporter assignments.

Delegating assignments and breaking news duties.

Inspire creativity, foster a cooperative environment, and mentor a team.

Create efficient workflows and enforce a sense of urgency.

Manage quality control of broadcasts including spell checking, ensuring accuracy, and fostering creativity.

Manage newsroom, lead the editorial process, and make quick decisions in breaking news situations.

Coordinate with other news managers.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

On-site work required. Remote work is not available.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, TV/Film or the equivalent.

At least 5 years’ experience in television or radio broadcast/production.

Must be able to communicate well across all departments.

Line producing experience required.

Experience with Avid iNews or other rundown software.

Strong news judgment, leadership, and organizational skills .

Basic understanding of Microsoft mobile and desktop platforms like Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, etc.

Must be able to work any shift.
