We’re looking for a skilled 3D artist with experience in both character and environment modeling for real-time applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating high-fidelity, production-ready assets and optimizing them for interactive use in Unreal Engine. This role combines technical precision with artistic quality, supporting a visually demanding immersive experience.

Responsibilities

  • Model realistic human characters, props, and environments with clean topology and PBR textures.
  • Create structural elements such as interiors, debris, tactical barriers, and architectural details.
  • Develop optimized assets for use in Unreal Engine, with consideration for performance, LODs, and scalability.
  • Generate UVs, bake maps, and texture using tools like Substance Painter or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with animators and developers to ensure asset readiness and engine compatibility.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience in 3D modeling for games, XR, or cinematic pipelines.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools: Blender, ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Strong skills in both organic (human characters) and hard-surface modeling (structures, equipment, props).
  • Experience modeling military or tactical characters, including realistic body proportions, detailed uniforms, armor, and gear.
  • Ability to create high-detail facial and anatomical features suitable for close-up viewing and rigging.
  • Proven skill in designing complex, destructible environments (e.g., breached walls, crumbling structures, debris-laden urban layouts).
  • Mastery of UV unwrapping, baking, and texturing for photorealistic results using PBR workflows.
  • Strong understanding of real-time asset integration, including optimization for performance, LODs, and memory management.
  • Familiarity with engine constraints, such as triangle budgets and lighting systems within Unreal Engine.
  • Portfolio must demonstrate realism-focused work that highlights both character believability and environmental depth under real-time conditions.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have valid work authorization for United States Of America: visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Must be within commuting distance from Santa Monica, CA or planning to relocate.
