Position Overview: The Atlanta Dream Director of Strategic Partnerships Sales will be responsible for prospecting and cultivating of new business. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Community Impact and will supervise the Manager of Strategic Partnerships and the Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships and Community Impact. This person will build a book of business and generate revenue by developing sponsorships with new partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementation Activities
  • Oversee the full sales cycle for corporate sponsorships with clients who do not have an existing relationship with the Atlanta Dream.
  • Identify and pursue strategically aligned corporate partnerships.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive proposals and presentations.
  • Implement the sales strategy established by the SVP of Strategic Partnerships and Community Impact.
  • Develop new and innovative sponsorship inventory and programming to generate new revenue and meet corporate partner objectives.
  • Solicit a wide range of new business through prospecting, networking, data capture, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Work with Senior Management and Marketing to develop customized presentation decks.
  • Responsible for being an expert on each assigned account’s business goals and objectives to provide ideas and recommendations to grow new business by conducting the discovery process.
  • Proactively generate sponsorship revenue to meet assigned sales goals through the sale of existing arena signage, social media, online/web inventory, broadcast inventory, promotional items, and other sponsorship inventory as appropriate.
  • Analyze and understand potential new customers’ objectives to develop tailored packages, capitalizing on the strengths that will meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Attend community events, networking events and business conferences.
  • Meet and exceed all sales goals.
  • Must be able to work at all Atlanta Dream home games.

Administrative Activities
  • Create, track, and maintain all proposals, contracts and recap documents.
  • Implement, activate, and track all assigned partner contracts to ensure that all elements are fulfilled, executed and reported in accordance with internal and external procedures and guidelines.
  • Research, organize, and present research internally and externally for the benefit of partnership development and education.
  • Manage and track partner account history, relationship details and partnership activation details in CRM on a consistent basis.
  • Provide detailed monthly updates and reports on partnership revenues, invoices, and inventory.
  • Continuously track sponsored inventory to identify underperforming assets and develop a strategy for improvement.
  • Monitor and track partner online deliverables with digital counterparts.
  • Organize on-boarding gifts/welcome documents and collateral for new partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, activation best practices and digital marketing.
  • Manage external relationships with data/information partners for the department as required (YouGov, RELO, TMBO, SponsorUnited, CRM etc.)
  • Develop internal and external mid-season and year end performance report/recap templates.
  • Provide partnership data for partner pitches, prospecting, and recap decks including social and TV performance, fan survey data, and other team highlights.
  • Communicate key issues internally via status reports and meeting updates.
  • Other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors degree, with a concentration in marketing, entertainment or sports management required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing and implementing sponsorship sales strategies.
o At least two years of experience as a people manager
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced client-service environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to foster excellent internal and external working relationships.
  • Experience in sports/entertainment marketing or management, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and cultivate relationships.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Canva proficiency preferred.
  • Knowledge of and passion for Atlanta Dream/WNBA preferred.
