ASSOCIATE MANAGER, SOCIAL MEDIA

Our consumer-first marketing strategies require our Associate Manager, Social Media to have a love of popular culture and experience in reaching consumers and fandoms based on where they live, what they watch, how they watch it, where they shop, how they receive content, and what digital worlds they inhabit. This role will be key to introducing our books and products to very impassioned fandoms that support our publishing partners including Marvel, Disney, Gilmore Girls, DC, Wicked, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and so many more.
Here’s what this role will be charged with each day:
Social Media Responsibilities:
- Lead corporate storytelling across Insight Editions social media platforms including creation of compelling original content related to the categories we specialize in.
- Develop lead/gen initiatives to grow our social platforms and our consumer outreach initiatives.
- Create digital graphics and video assets adhering to corporate or licensor/brand style guides and templates.
- Brainstorm with title marketers and director each season on social media advertising; plan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns across Insight Editions’ social platforms.
- Confirm social media campaigns with platforms; update marketing plans and internal systems with details to inform sales reps; track deadlines and submit graphics to platforms after approvals; and process invoices.
- Coordinate with title marketers and the director to set seasonal and monthly social posting calendar for new releases, backlist promotions, events and conventions, and corporate initiatives.
- Create resource documents and social media best practice guidelines to share with authors, creators, and partners to enable their own promotional efforts.
- Track performance metrics, analyze engagement data, and generate reports and recommendations to optimize future content development and social media strategies.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify consumer and social trends, keeping an eye on new, emerging platforms to further develop innovative strategies for social media marketing campaigns.
- Work with e-commerce team to promote corporate D2C sales initiatives across social media and email marketing with an equal focus on sales and lead/gen initiatives to grow consumer outreach.
- Support e-commerce ad initiatives by exploring paid social media advertising opportunities to drive website traffic and sales.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of work in social media within the entertainment or book publishing industries.
- Proficiency in designing social media and advertising assets through Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and TikTok and newsletter platform MailChimp.
- Experience promoting products across gaming platforms like Twitch, Steam, and Game Tree, is a bonus.
- Proven ability to execute and analyze paid social media and advertising campaigns while also creating and presenting concise reports of results to share internally and externally to authors and brand partners.
- Deep understanding of social media analytics, scheduling and listening tools, including Meta Business Suite; experience using Meltwater a plus.
- Detail-oriented project manager with strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This is a full-time position open to fulltime remote applicants based in the United States. Insight Editions’ offices are in San Rafael, California and Burbank, California and office space can be provided for candidates local to those area. Hiring manager resides in Los Angeles, California. Insight Editions offers a 401K savings program, employer-paid health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, paid sick leave, and paid vacation time. Salary for this role is $55,000.

Book Designer
Insight Editions seeks a Graphic Designer to assist in designing our books, stationery, and various other consumer products from research and concept to design and production. Our publishing program includes titles from many of the world’s largest brands and pop-culture staples, from Harry Potter to DC Comics to Disney.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who has experience in book design, has a love for pop-culture, and wants to learn about the creative process in a highly successful publishing and entertainment company alongside a passionate, creative team. This position reports to the Art Director.
Primary Responsibility: Design and layout of books and stationery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a design related field.
- 3-4 years of four-color trade book layout and design experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be adaptable and flexible with an ability to multitask, and a strong attention to detail.
- Illustration skill is a plus.
- Experience with 3D rendering software is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design, layout, and production of book covers and interiors.
- Design of various other products like candles, stationery, and greeting cards.
- Moodboards, market research, and color proofing.
- Sales materials development such as creating mock covers and spreads, trimming and assembling materials for book fairs.
