Rockstar Games is currently seeking a highly talented Pipeline Technical Artist focused on our varied automated/pipeline systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our game development teams, across all development disciplines, and help drive our tools technology forward to support the development of various Rockstar Games projects. The Pipeline Technical Artist role will focus on developing, maintaining and optimizing our automated systems used across multiple projects and platforms. This work involves dealing with our production animation teams’ workflows. This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan. Responsibilities include designing and building automation pipelines for the Rockstar Animation department to process various types of content in Animation & Motion Capture space, designing technologies to improve Tech Art pipelines, working closely with DevOps to improve Tech Art backend ecosystem, performing general script and pipeline maintenance, supporting Pipeline core code for different Tech Art teams, and tackling day-to-day requests for improvements and bug fixes. Qualifications include Python and/or C# knowledge, 3+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist/TD/Tools Programmer in videogames or film/VFX industry, experience in designing, building and maintaining complex workflows and pipelines, and experience working with pre-existing proprietary or 3rd party automation systems/processes. Skills desired include experience with Docker/Containers and Orchestration Systems, Mongo/SQL or other databases, Web APIs, CI/CD systems on GitHub or GitLab, strong communication, self-management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work within a schedule and deliver to deadlines. Additional pluses include experience with Rez or similar package managers, Kafka and event driven pipelines, Agile Scrum method, MotionBuilder and/or Maya, and FFMPEG Tool Suite or similar video/audio processing tools.
