Your impact:
The Pioneer Woman is looking for a test-kitchen and food styling assistant to join our Birmingham, Alabama-based food team. This person will be responsible for keeping the test kitchen organized and ready for the next project. The test-kitchen assistant will also shop and help prep for photo and video shoots, as well as offer food styling assistance on prep and shoot days. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the ground level and help create food content that our readers will love. Candidates should have a culinary degree or experience working in a professional kitchen. Test kitchen and assistant food styling experience and/or interest is a plus.

What you’ll do:
• Manage test-kitchen pantry inventory; prepare bulk orders
• Prepare grocery orders and/or shop in person for photo and video shoots
• Prep food and assist on still and video shoots
• Wash dishes and empty dishwashers
• Input recipes into CMS with an eye for detail and accuracy
• Return props to correct areas of the prop shelves
• Assist food director with expense reports
• Cross-test recipes and take detailed notes
• When time allows, research and pitch trend-based recipes and food stories
• When time allows, develop recipes and write SEO focused recipe intros
Who you are:
• Culinary degree or at least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
• Experience or high interest in a test kitchen environment
• Experience or high interest in food styling for photo and video shoots
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Committed to maintaining a clean, organized work-space
• Team player in a fast-paced environment
The base salary for this role is $55,800. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
