Interim Director of Accounting - Entertainment Industry

Title: Interim Director of Accounting (Entertainment/Production Focus)
Location: Los Angeles (Hybrid – On-site 3 days a week)

Overview:
A well-funded, high-growth entertainment company is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Accounting to support its accounting operations during a transitional period. The company is looking for a seasoned professional to bring additional depth—particularly in entertainment-specific accounting and production consolidations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close processes and support reporting deliverables for investor requirements.
• Oversee and consolidate production-level trial balances, including unscripted content.
• Apply revenue recognition principles under percentage-of-completion methodology, including for international projects with FX exposure.
• Collaborate closely with the in-house production finance team.
• Assist with cleanup and potential oversight of related production entities within the broader corporate structure.
• Provide guidance to an accounting team that includes a strong, newly promoted Controller.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Strong accounting experience at a mid-size entertainment studio, particularly in production finance.
• Hands-on experience with production consolidations and month-end close processes.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments and wearing multiple hats.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $95.00 - $120.00 per hour
