2025 NOFF Social Media Coordinator
(Part-Time // Temporary)

The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, nurturing, and amplifying the diverse voices of filmmakers. We aim to facilitate conversations through film and film-related programming that inspire, educate, challenge, and entertain our audiences.

The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) seeks a proficient marketing professional, who has a strong understanding and feel for social media. The position will maintain the festival social media schedule and coordinate festival coverage on all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn) through reels, posts, stories and must be skilled in quick content creation. The individual must be organized, have video/photo editing skills, basic graphic design abilities, and background in media assets organization.
TIMELINE FOR THE POSITION
mid August through late October
The schedule for this position is flexible as long as the Festival deadlines are met. We estimate this position will work in a part-time capacity in pre-event weeks and increase gradually to a full-time workload leading up to the event.
Full availability is required during the live Festival dates: October 23-27.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
This is a contract position, with a total compensation amount of $3,500, to be paid in biweekly installments over the duration of the contract period.
This is a temporary independent contractor position and does not offer benefits. The earnings are subject to Self-Employment Tax and no deductions will be made from your checks. This job is not eligible for any cost reimbursements related to the contracted work. You will be issued an IRS Form 1099.
LOCATION
New Orleans Film Society staff are working on a hybrid schedule, with a portion of the week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and a portion remotely (Monday, Friday). This position has the flexibility to work remotely but has to be on the ground during NOFF and any other pre-festival events/training. The New Orleans Film Society is not able to offer travel expense reimbursements at this time.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Maintain all communications efforts across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), including placing ads and tracking performance and analytics
- Produce promotional video content used on social media platforms
- Execute community engagement across our channels, including responding to and coordinating cross-promotions with NOFS’s community, organizational partners, and filmmakers
- Ensure that acknowledgment and visibility needs for sponsors, donors, and members are accurately and appropriately represented across social media channels
- Execute the email and social media calendar with input from NOFS’s year-round development, programming, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with a team of event photographers and videographers during the festival for timely editing and posting of photos and video across all social media platforms
- Edit and caption festival videos if needed.
- Alignment to the organization’s stated mission and values
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in digital marketing
- Proven track record and success at managing social media marketing campaigns
- Direct user experience with Canva, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok, Dropbox and Google Workspace.
- Proven experience with video/photo editing (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom).
- Strong copywriting skills: Ability to produce compelling, persuasive, and error-free copy for social media posts
- Experience with content creation: Proven track record in developing high-quality, SEO-optimized content for social media platforms
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to align written content with broader organizational goals and strategies
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise tactfully with press, media, and industry professionals.
- Ability to take initiative and self-manage workload while meeting deadlines
- Must be able to travel to in-person events in New Orleans and work nights and weekends during scheduled festivals and events.
- Experience working with arts, film, or non-profit organizations.
- Knowledge of the independent film and media landscape
- Direct experience with Microsoft Office, and Airtable
