WIRED is an ambitious 30-year-old publication focused on how technology and science are shaping the world today, and how to make the future better for everyone. Our operation includes a daily website, a print magazine, video, podcasts, and many other exciting projects.
The WIRED Fellowship is designed to provide hands-on career experience for aspiring journalists in a professional media organization. WIRED seeks to hire one graduate student to work directly with the Director of the Science, Politics and Security desks to get hands-on experience reporting, writing and gain a better understanding of the entire editorial process at Condé Nast. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the day-to-day work in preparing articles for publication under the editorial department.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Pitch, report, and write stories on tech companies and their influence
  • Collaborate with members of the science, politics, and security desks, as well as journalists from across the WIRED newsroom
  • Collaborate with video and social media teams as needed to develop ways of telling stories on other platforms
  • File FOIA Requests
  • Help the research desk fact-check stories
  • Additional projects/stories as assigned
The fellowship will run for approximately 8 weeks. The fellow is expected to work 35-40 hours per week, with hybrid remote work options available.
Pay rate is $28/hour.
