BOOK MANAGER — FILM & TELEVISION RIGHTS


We are seeking a motivated and industry-savvy Book Manager to specialize in representing literary properties for film, television, and streaming adaptation. This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about books, IP development, and the entertainment industry.


ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Book-to-Screen Manager, you will scout, sign, and represent authors, books, graphic novels, comics, articles, and other narrative IP with strong adaptation potential. You will pitch material to producers, studios, streamers, and executives while guiding authors through the screen-rights process from strategy to sale.


RESPONSIBILITIES


·      Scout literary material including books, manuscripts, articles, short stories, comics, and graphic novels


·      Build and manage a roster of authors and literary creators


·      Pitch IP to producers, studios, networks, and streamers for adaptation


·      Develop relationships with executives, development teams, showrunners, and production companies


·      Track industry trends, upcoming publications, and hot emerging IP


·      Negotiate shopping agreements, options, and rights deals (with internal support as needed)


·      Guide authors through the adaptation process and help shape their projects for marketability


·      Maintain organized tracking of submissions, interest, and deal flow


REQUIREMENTS


·      Experience in literary management, publishing, film/TV development, or IP acquisition strongly preferred


·      Familiarity with option agreements, shopping agreements, and rights terminology


·      Strong communication and pitching skills


·      Excellent story sense and the ability to identify high-concept, cinematic material


·      Existing relationships with producers or executives a plus


·      Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently


COMPENSATION

This is a commission-only position, paid as a percentage of deals you negotiate and close. High earning potential for individuals with strong taste and industry connections.
