We are seeking a Business Development Manager to support the sourcing and evaluation of new game projects and developer partnerships for Annapurna Interactive. This role will focus on identifying standout titles, building relationships with creators, and managing the early stages of our publishing pipeline. The ideal candidate has strong instincts for creative quality, is well-connected in the game development scene, and thrives in both autonomous research and collaborative review environments.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and scout promising games, studios, and development talent aligned with Annapurna Interactive’s creative vision.
  • Maintain a pipeline of potential publishing opportunities by engaging with the industry through events, online communities, and personal outreach.
  • Review and assess unsolicited submissions and pitches, evaluating creative potential, technical execution, and market fit.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to package and present high-potential projects for internal review and greenlight.
  • Track and maintain detailed documentation on scouting leads and submissions using internal tools and systems.
  • Attend conferences, showcases, and festivals to connect with developers and stay current on emerging trends.
  • Communicate regularly and respectfully with prospective partners, representing the Annapurna Interactive brand with authenticity and professionalism.
  • Support the overall business development strategy by providing insights on genre trends, market gaps, and audience interests.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in game scouting, business development, production, or a related area within the game industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the indie game ecosystem and a demonstrated ability to spot standout creative work early in development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear internal evaluations and external outreach.
  • A deep love for games with strong narrative or artistic ambition, and taste aligned with Annapurna Interactive’s catalog.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel to industry events, conferences, and game festivals.
  • Highly organized and capable of tracking multiple prospects and submissions in parallel.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Airtable, Notion, Trello, or similar project management platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with creative evaluation, pitch materials, or market analysis is a plus.
