Role Description The College Music Intern will support Gift’s music-related community initiatives by discovering emerging college artists, curating playlists, and highlighting music that aligns with user interests and platform values. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching college and local music scenes, engaging with student music communities, contributing to content ideas that spotlight artists, and assisting with basic outreach to potential partners or collaborators. The intern may help organize virtual listening sessions, provide feedback on music-focused features, and collaborate with the team on campaigns that celebrate musicians and fans. This is a contract role and a remote position, offering flexible hours designed to accommodate academic commitments.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge and enthusiasm for Music and Music Industry topics, including trends, genres, and artist communities.
- Experience or strong interest in Music Performance and Music Production, with the ability to understand artists’ creative processes and needs.
- Exposure to or coursework in Music Education, with the ability to communicate musical ideas clearly and accessibly.
- Active enrollment in a college or university, preferably with a focus in music, media, communications, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and professionally with diverse communities.
- Comfort working remotely, managing time independently, and collaborating through digital tools.
- Demonstrated passion for building inclusive communities and supporting emerging artists; prior campus involvement in music clubs, radio, or events is a plus.
