This position is based in Burbank and reports to the Production Manager, Media Ops. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starting individual who can work independently as well as within an established team.
The Mixing Assistant II role will focus on supporting audio post‑production workflows, including AI‑driven voice conversion, as well as creating and preparing premix and mix sessions for client delivery, ensuring high quality according to expected efficiency and deadlines. Furthermore, the role is expected to, over time, to be able to work with all types of mix tasks and across all types of clients, tiers and complexity. The Mixing Assistant I plays a key role in minimizing technical errors that could lead to client rejections.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality work according to expected deadlines
- Operate and manage AI voice generation and voice conversion tools to produce high-quality localized audio outputs.
- Ensure that mixes have good balance dialogue clarity, dynamics, and overall tonal consistency with the materials provided by the client
- Check loudness, peak levels, and audio specs according to client requirements
- Ensure proper audio routing, track layout, and session organization in Pro Tools
- Address and revise mixes based on feedback from QC process or rejections.
- Identify issues from raw recording sessions such as distortion, sync errors, or missing lines, during mix process
- Collaborate with all production stakeholders to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Support root-cause investigations of client rejections related to AI voice generation, mixing or technical errors
- Follow established workflows, SLAs, and project timelines
- Continuously improve work quality through feedback, learning and training.
- Conversion: Operate and manage AI voice generation and voice conversion tools to produce high-quality localized audio outputs.
- Premix: Edit and align generated AI speech tracks to match picture, ensuring flawless lip-syncing, natural phrasing, and proper dramatic pacing.
- Mix: Blend generated AI voice into regular mixing process to produce a natural, master localized audio output.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or related fields/experiences
- 3+ years of experience in audio post-production
- Having knowledge of audio technology and audio theory
- Good understanding of Pro Tools software
- Strong critical listening skills with high attention to detail
