Job Description

About Becoming You Labs

Becoming You Labs is a life-discovery and career-planning platform built on a rigorous methodology that helps people find purpose at the intersection of their values, aptitudes, and economically viable interests. Founded by Suzy Welch — bestselling author, NYU Stern professor, and host of the Becoming You podcast — the company reaches its audience through a fast-growing ecosystem of content: a weekly newsletter, podcasts, workbooks, YouTube shows, thought pieces, and more.

Content is not marketing at Becoming You Labs — it is the product and the movement. We are hiring a Producer to build and run an exciting, new, guest-based YouTube show from the ground up.

About the Role

Becoming You Labs is launching an interview-led YouTube show hosted by Suzy Welch, and built for natural, free-flowing conversation rather than a scripted format. Alongside Suzy, each conversation will feature well-known and otherwise compelling guests. Additional details on the show’s concept will be discussed upon interviewing. We are looking for an experienced, YouTube-native producer and editor, based in New York, to build this show from concept through a sustainable, monetized release cadence.

This is a one-person production pipeline that reports directly to Suzy. You'll handle everything end to end — pitching and booking guests, shooting and editing every episode, and driving retention and engagement — and you'll be equally responsible for turning that content into revenue, through sponsorships, brand integrations, and other monetization paths.

Note: This is not a channel-management role or a hands-off executive producer role; it is a hands-on production role for someone who can take an established show concept and execute it at a high level, on a consistent schedule. There is no crew, no separate editor, and no booking department — this person is the entire production pipeline.

What You’ll Do

  • Source, pitch, and book guests who fit the show's premise and Suzy's audience; manage outreach and scheduling end to end.
  • Maintain a content calendar planned several weeks out and hold a consistent release cadence.
  • Research each guest and prepare materials — questions, narrative arc, background — that support a strong, natural on-camera conversation.
  • Produce and direct each shoot: set up cameras, lighting, and audio.
  • Edit every episode start to finish — pacing, sound, graphics, captions, thumbnails, and titles — to a high, professional standard.
  • Cut short-form, platform-native content from each episode for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Own the YouTube channel strategy: upload cadence, titles, thumbnails, SEO, and cross-platform promotion to build watch time and subscribers.
  • Build the show into a business — brand integrations, sponsorships, and monetization — in partnership with Suzy and the Becoming You Labs marketing team.
  • Stay current on visual and social trends across YouTube and the broader media landscape and bring ideas that help the show stand out.

What You’ll Bring

  • Prior experience producing a YouTube show is required — ideally guest- or interview-based — from concept through a real, ongoing release cadence. General video, social, or editing experience elsewhere is not a substitute.
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating genuine and high-quality end-to-end capability: you concept, book, shoot, and edit a show yourself, and can speak to what worked and why.
  • A fluency in the mechanics of YouTube specifically — thumbnails, titles, algorithm, watch time, Shorts/clipping strategy — not just video production in general.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit: being as excited by growing and monetizing a show as by producing it.
  • A current perspective on visual and social trends across the digital media landscape and YouTube specifically, offering insights and ideas that help the show amplify its reach and stand out in a crowded landscape.
  • A history of engineering viral moments.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Direct experience monetizing a show or channel.
  • A proven track record of booking hard-to-get guests is a plus.

What Would Disqualify a Candidate

This is not a role for someone who wants to direct a crew rather than be the crew. Candidates who have only managed or been an executive producer — without personally booking, shooting, and editing episodes themselves — are not the right fit. The entire value of this hire is that one person can do it all.

Logistics

In-person role based in New York, NY. Open to either a contract or full-time structure.

Pay Range

$70,000 - $150,000 USD.

How to Apply

To apply, please reach out to Rosie Delk on LinkedIn with a brief cover letter explaining why you're the right fit for this role, along with a reel or portfolio of relevant work.
