Role Description The Public Relations Intern is a unpaid part-time, remote role.
This internship supports the PR team with day-to-day tasks such as drafting press materials, conducting media and influencer research, tracking press coverage, and maintaining media lists and contact databases. The intern will assist with coordinating outreach to journalists, podcasters, and influencers, help prepare briefing documents and talking points, and support planning for launches, events, and social media initiatives. Responsibilities also include monitoring industry trends, compiling client reports, organizing internal files, and collaborating with team members to ensure timely execution of PR and visibility campaigns.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Public Relations and Media Relations, including an understanding of how to build and maintain relationships with press and partners.
- Candidates should possess skills in Press Releases and Strategic Communications, including drafting clear, compelling materials aligned with brand messaging.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including professional written and verbal communication and the ability to present information clearly.
- Relevant skills such as research, organization, attention to detail, and time management are beneficial for success in this role.
- Coursework or experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field is preferred, along with familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital tools (e.g., Google Workspace, project management software).
- Ability to collaborate in an on-site team environment in the San Diego Metropolitan Area, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a professional, inclusive attitude with clients and colleagues.
