Position Summary: 

Onyx VFX is seeking an experienced Senior Visual Effects producer. This role will be a key leadership position within the company, overseeing all aspects of production from award to final delivery. The Senior VFX producer is responsible for schedule, budget and scope execution to the satisfaction of our clients. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in visual effects production, exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of CG and compositing workflows, and a proven track record of delivering complex VFX projects. This individual will identify schedule and resource problems before they arise and implement solutions to keep the projects on track. This is a fully remote position but must be California based. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day in-depth understanding of project status in order to strategize and drive schedule while keeping budgets in line. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through clear communication and proactive problem solving. 
  • Mentor and lead production managers, coordinators, and other production staff, brainstorming fresh ideas and adjusting processes and procedures as needed. 
  • Participate in bidding, project planning, scope evaluation, and resource forecasting.
  • Work with department leadership to ensure resources are effectively allocated across active productions.
  • Monitor scope changes and ensure accurate tracking of bids, change orders, and additional work requests.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of visual effects production experience, including significant experience in a senior producer or equivalent leadership role.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale VFX projects for feature films, episodic television, streaming platforms, or comparable content.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent productions with complex schedules, budgets, and client requirements.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams within a VFX studio environment.
  • Extensive understanding of VFX production pipelines, CG workflows, compositing processes, and post-production delivery.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and client management skills.
  • Advanced budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning expertise.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creative excellence and business objectives.
  • Experience with production tracking and project management tools commonly used within VFX facilities.
