About Us

The Following Films is an indie production company with ambitious goals: to launch bold, independent films that serve as the foundation for future IP franchises. With projects including The Following (shooting December 2025) and Only Love (a raw, intimate story about homelessness), we are preparing to scale quickly into a slate of projects, including Rip (a superhero drama with a modest VFX budget).

We’re seeking an Indie Slate Fundraising Expert to help us secure financing for a lineup of films, not just one project at a time. This role is critical in bridging the world of indie filmmaking with strategic capital-raising approaches more often seen at the studio level.

The Role

This is a remote, part-time, or fractional role with flexibility to begin in January 2026, after completion of The Following. The right candidate will have deep experience in film finance, investor relations, and capital strategy, with the ability to create compelling fundraising campaigns and attract both private investors and institutional support.

Responsibilities

Capital Strategy: Develop and execute fundraising strategies for a slate of indie films, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Investor Outreach: Identify, engage, and secure investors ranging from high-net-worth individuals to boutique funds and film-focused institutions.
Materials Development: Build compelling pitch decks, business plans, and financial models tailored for film investors.
Deal Structuring: Advise on equity, debt, tax incentives, and profit participation structures for film investors.
Investor Relations: Act as a point of contact for investor communication, reporting, and updates.
Strategic Guidance: Provide insights into emerging financing trends, co-productions, and partnerships that can benefit the slate.
Collaboration: Work closely with the founder, Studio Scale Business & IP Executive, and Indie Operations Lead to align financing strategy with creative and production goals.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in Film Finance: 7+ years raising capital for independent films, film slates, or entertainment ventures.
Track Record: Proven success in securing investors and closing financing rounds.
Investor Network: Strong connections with private investors, funds, or entertainment-focused financiers.
Financial Acumen: Ability to create clear, compelling, and credible models for film ROI and investor risk/reward.
Strategic Mindset: Comfortable designing financing approaches that scale from indie to mid-tier budgets.
Communication Skills: Strong presentation and relationship-building abilities with investors.
Entrepreneurial Drive: Excited to build a fundraising framework for a company with billion-dollar IP ambitions.

Compensation

Structure: Consulting or part-time engagement, with potential to transition into a long-term leadership role.
Equity: 0.25–1% ownership in The Following Films (based on experience and fit).
Profit Participation: Option for backend points on films directly financed.
Cash: Limited early-stage retainer or project-based fees; competitive full-time compensation available as the company scales post–Only Love.
