The Executive Producer, Next-Gen News is a content-focused leader specializing in the advancement and integration of new technologies to drive the creation, production, presentation and distribution of news content across platforms. This role is responsible for traveling to various newsrooms to guide, coach, and support teams through the adoption of AI, automation, and other emerging technologies that streamline news production and enhance editorial quality. The Executive Producer will act as a catalyst for change, working closely with editorial, technology, and product teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of new workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary expert, coach and evangelist for newsroom teams on the adoption of new technologies, including AI, automation, and advanced news production tools.

  • Travel extensively (at least 50% of the time) to newsrooms across the organization to lead training sessions and support the implementation of new workflows.

  • Collaborate with editorial, technology, and product teams to co-design and execute innovative solutions that improve news production efficiency and editorial quality.

  • Guide teams through organizational changes, including technology-driven process improvements and workflow transitions, and address questions regarding the impact on staffing and operations.

  • Provide empathetic leadership and clear communication to help staff navigate uncertainty and embrace new ways of working.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to news production and distribution.

  • Report to the Director of Innovation on progress, challenges, and opportunities related to technology adoption and workflow improvements.


Requirements::

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in newsroom management, with a strong background in TV news production and digital/multiplatform environments.

  • Deep understanding of news production techniques and workflows.

  • Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and teach new technologies.

  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively across departments, including editorial, technology, and product teams.

  • Strong editorial judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
