  • Operate all assigned broadcast equipment and software within the BOC to maintain live transmission and signal flow.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for any signal interruption or discrepancy, collaborating with Netflix and the Live Broadcast Operations Supervisor to restore service promptly.
  • Provide technical support for live streams, ensuring visual and audio quality meet distribution standards.
  • Assist in coordinating the launch, routing, and takedown of live events, including sports, entertainment, and tentpole programming.
  • Document and log live event milestones, issues, and resolutions with clarity and accuracy.

Issue Management & Troubleshooting
  • Identify, diagnose, and escalate issues quickly to the Supervisor or Netflix Engineering/Operations teams based on severity.
  • Support in-depth troubleshooting of broadcast and transmission systems, including IP-based video, cloud-based tools, and hybrid workflows.
  • Track anomalies and provide detailed notes and data to support post-event reviews and incident reports.

Technical Operations Support
  • Maintain proficiency with Netflix’s evolving broadcast platforms, infrastructure, and third-party tools.
  • Participate in regular training and certifications to stay current with Netflix’s standards and workflow updates.
  • Support cross-functional projects and special coverage, including high-priority or sensitive programming.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Coordinate in real-time with the Live Broadcast Supervisor, Coordinators, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth handoffs and successful executions.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication during live operations, including high-pressure and rapid-response situations.
  • Document shift turnover notes and communicate key issues to incoming operators to ensure continuity.

Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in broadcast operations, live production, or master control environments.
  • Proven ability to operate in a 24/7 BOC or equivalent live operations setting, ideally within entertainment or streaming.
  • Strong technical understanding of signal flow, digital audio/video fundamentals, and compression formats.
  • Experience operating or monitoring tools such as waveform monitors, vectorscopes, encoders, intercom systems, and playout servers.
  • Familiarity with transport and streaming protocols such as SDI, SMPTE-2110, RTP, RTMP, SRT, Zixi.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms and cloud-based broadcast systems (e.g., TAG Video Systems, AMPP, Zixi Broadcaster).
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while remaining calm, responsive, and detail-focused.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required by broadcast schedules.

Compensation & Benefits:
This role is paid an hourly rate of $50-65/hr depending on experience.
