Job Description
Job Overview
We tell the stories both of celebrity chefs and pitmasters and unknown heroes from all over the USA (and hopefully someday the world). Think Anthony Bourdain meets Netflix's Chef's Table - but made by ordinary people and published on YouTube.
Do you love BBQ? Do you love people? Do you thrive on bringing order to chaos? Are you the most detail oriented person you know? Does the idea of working hard alongside a small team of equally committed peers producing the kind of content that would take a studio a dozen or more people to create excite you?
We are looking for an experienced video producer who will plan, organize, and manage the production of our videos.
This role requires a blend of strong writing and project management skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Show us how detail oriented you are by including a cover letter that not only introduces yourself and tells us in your own words why you would be great at this job, but also tells us about your favorite bbq meal or bbq establishment.
Candidates with video production and culinary backgrounds are preferred, but we'll hire the person with the best skills even if they only have one or the other
Duties
- Coordinate and manage all pre-production planning for each episode, including scheduling guests, cameos and locations
- Collaborate with the team on research and pre-shoot interviews to make sure we have as much detail of the story as possible going into each shoot
- Plan and document shooting schedules for multi-day on-location shoots, in collaboration with the team and the subjects we are filming
- Project manage the actual shoots on-location to make sure we get every shot we need to tell the best stories
- Coordinate and manage post-filming execution for each episode
- Do post-shoot research and digital asset gathering finding pictures, videos, news articles and more to help support telling the story visually
- Be the primary point of contact for shoots, including subjects, people we will interview for the videos, location contacts, and contractors
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication capabilities.
- Proficiency in Google Apps (Documents, Sheets, Gmail)
- Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms and audiences.
- A passion for barbecue and live-fire cooking.
Join us in creating impactful content that informs, engages, and inspires our audience!
