Job Description

The New York Jets are seeking a visionary Director, Social Media to help lead our strategy across owned and operated platforms, drive innovation, and embed our brand voice into how we connect with fans, both current and prospective. This leadership role within the Jets’ Content & Production department blends creativity and analytics, instinct and strategy, brand identity and fan-first storytelling. If you live and breathe content, know how to turn data into decisions, and thrive on building community, this is your opportunity.
This role will collaborate with a dynamic content team to guide the vision and execution of daily content, long-term campaigns, and real-time engagement across Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. Working closely with leads across production, design, and marketing, you’ll ensure our digital voice is unified, evolving, and unmistakably aligned with our fans and football-first identity.
This role will lead publishing strategy, campaign planning, and community engagement across channels while using performance insights to guide decision-making and staying steps ahead of what’s next. This role will be challenged with moving fast and thinking big, understanding where strategy meets speed, and capitalizing where brand meets moments.
Key Responsibilities -

Strategic Leadership & Brand Stewardship
  • Help develop the vision and roadmap for the Jets’ social media presence across all platforms, ensuring brand alignment and cultural relevance.
  • Collaboratively develop and execute platform-specific content strategies that grow audience, deepen engagement, and support organizational priorities, from ticketing and merchandise to sponsorship and community impact.
  • Serve as the editorial voice of the brand across our channels, helping guide the tone, messaging, and storytelling cadence in alignment with the broader content team and business goals.
  • Translate brand values into actionable social strategies, ensuring every piece of content reflects the team’s identity, resonates with target audiences, and ladders up to long-term brand goals.
  • Collaboratively develop and execute new content strategies for each individual social platform- working closely with the content team through established and evolving workflows.
Social Innovation & Analytics
  • Stay at the forefront of digital and cultural trends, experimenting with new formats, creator collaborations, emerging platforms, and fan engagement tactics.
  • Oversee real-time social engagement, from in-game moments to breaking news, setting the tone for how the team shows up when it matters most.
  • Help develop UGC initiatives, working with fan and creator content as well as campaign-driven contests to grow and energize our fanbase.
  • Drive performance through analytics, help develop and manage KPIs, reviewing content performance, and translating insights into action.
  • Own publishing workflows, approvals, and governance across all channels to ensure operational excellence, real-time readiness, and brand consistency.
Content Integration & Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with leads across video, photography, live content, and editorial to ensure social is fully integrated into larger content initiatives — from tentpole campaigns to daily storytelling.
  • Act as a strategic liaison with marketing, PR, sponsorship, community relations, and football operations to elevate key messaging and unify cross-channel campaigns.
  • Drive the ideation and development of social-first and cross-platform content concepts, shaping live coverage, narrative arcs, and platform-native activations.
  • Work with senior content and business stakeholders to align social strategy with brand milestones, product launches, and organizational priorities — ensuring social delivers both cultural and commercial impact.

Experience
  • 7–10 years of social media & content experience, ideally in sports, entertainment, or a brand-driven environment.
  • A sharp editorial eye, strong writing background, and a proven ability to lead in a high-pressure, always-on environment.
  • Deep knowledge of platform best practices, content trends, and how to connect with fans in a way that’s both authentic and performance-driven.
  • Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Emplifi, Zoomph) to inform strategy, measure success, and report to senior leadership.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to zoom out to big-picture strategy while maintaining attention to day-to-day execution.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and game days as required — because fans don’t clock out

Salary range for this role: USD $100,000 to $120,000 per year and discretionary annual company bonus, dependent on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate. Company benefit programs for full-time employees include: robust medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible-spending and dependent-care account options, company-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance plans, with additional voluntary supplemental term life & AD&D insurance options, and a variety of other health & wellbeing offerings; 401k plan participation (after 500 hours of service) with company-match and discretionary employer-funded defined contribution; PTO, sick time, paid maternity/parental leave; and access to tickets and parking for all New York Jets home games.
